V&A Late, 25th October
The Art Department are offering an opportunity to take any Sixth Form pupils interested in art, design and photography to visit the V&A for their Friday Lates event. These events are aimed at students aged 16-25, as well as viewing the artworks in the museum. The original contemporary late night event. Friday Late celebrates all aspects of contemporary visual culture and design in society, bringing audiences together with leading and emerging artists and designers through live performance, film, installation, debate, DJs and more. The students do not need to currently be studying an art or photography course to enjoy this event, but students must return their reply slips soon! The Lion King 19th October
Performing arts invite theatre enthusiasts to attend a production of The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre for a discount rate. The Lion King is a stage musical renowned for its music and production design, featuring puppets and bright costumes. The hit musical production has been running since 1999, and is based on the 1994 Walt Disney Animation Studios' film of the same name (running parallels with the Shakespeare story of Hamlet).
