Higher Education Day
Each school year gets off to a flying start for students in Year 12, who begin thinking about their future plans early at our annual Higher Education Day. The busy and informative schedule of events included presentations from different universities and employers, helping to narrow down the vast spectrum of courses on offer.
Practise Oxbridge Interviews
Potential applicants to Oxford and Cambridge universities and to Medicine and Dentistry degrees are put through their paces each November by a mock interview panel. Experienced teachers and consultant doctors, all Heathland alumni, prepare students to demonstrate confidence and enthusiasm in the interviews themselves later in the year.
Guidance for Medicine Applications
Each year, there are a number of pupils who aspire to gain places at some of the country’s most challenging courses. In order to facilitate this, the school is able to utilise a long-standing alumni network to provide vital guidance to sixth formers. On a number of occasions, previous Heathlanders such as Dr Arani Nitkunan (above), now a Consultant Neurologist at St George’s Hospital in Croydon, have offered their time to speak to and advise students.
