Head of Department - Mrs B Kaur BA (Hons)
Religious Education has an important role to play in the school curriculum in developing pupils' ability to understand the world about them and in preparing them for life in a multicultural society.
The department adopts a world faith approach and aims to encourage pupils to explore the nature of religious faith and its impact on the lives of individuals and communities. Pupils explore questions about life and its purpose and, through the study of religious beliefs and practices, are encouraged to develop their own opinions and be more aware of their own beliefs and attitudes. During Key Stage 3, pupils explore the nature of worship, the concept of sacred spaces and the religious founders of all six major world religions in accordance with the Hounslow Agreed Syllabus.
Religious Education is taught throughout the school, including the Sixth Form and pupils can take examinations at GCSE, AS and A2 Level.
