Head of Department - Mrs LB Cutts, B.Ed
Technology is taught by our experienced team of teachers in a suite of specialist teaching areas. The subject of Technology emphasises the importance of practical capability and provides opportunities for pupils to develop their powers of innovation, decision-making and creating new solutions to real problems.
At Key Stage 3, pupils develop their skills by working with a variety of materials including food, graphics, textiles and wood, metal and plastics. They make appropriate use of ICT applications and are encouraged to attend extra-curricular activities to develop their interest and enjoyment of the subject.
At Key Stage 4, pupils are offered the opportunity to study GCSE Design Technology, GCSE Art & Design: Textiles and GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.
