Teacher of Textiles

Outer London Scale

The Heathland School is an 11-18 oversubscribed school with over 1800 students on roll and a large (500+) Sixth Form.

At the heart of our ethos is a ‘Commitment to Excellence’. We have always set high standards for achievement in an environment where students demonstrate courtesy, self-discipline and respect for each other.

There is a strong culture of learning across the school, and we are looking to appoint a strong and highly motivated leader with excellent communication skills, as well as vison, imagination, resilience and a commitment to collaboration.

An ambitious and well qualified teacher is required for January 2025 who is able to join a team of experienced and dedicated teachers in a highly successful school. We teach Textiles in Years 7, 8 and 9 and it is a popular subject at GCSE where we follow the AQA Art And Design (Textiles) syllabus. At Key Stage 3 some teaching of other aspects of Design Technology may be required.

We offer:

  • Well-equipped specialist rooms and facilities
  • A high uptake at GCSE
  • Excellent IT facilities
  • A dedicated and experienced technician and admin assistant
  • A supportive environment working with highly motivated staff

We offer an excellent staff programme for professional development and opportunities for promotions. We would highly recommend a visit to the school.
