Kareima Younis – Springwest Academy
Despite applying to an array of schools, it was clear that The Heathland School consistently stood out across all aspects; I was sure that this school could help me reach above and beyond my own goals.
What stood out to me in particular when making my decision was the exceptional UCAS support. Whether you have aspirations for an Apprenticeship or Oxbridge there is support available from day one. The process does not begin in Year 13, with Linkedin and Sixth Form opportunities being made abundant throughout Year 12. They avidly encourage those seeking their own opportunities, as I attended various work experiences and workshops throughout the year which were invaluable to my applications.
In deciding to go to The Heathland School, I was able to maintain my interests through the extracurricular opportunities spanning from academically driven courses such as Debate, esteemed qualifications including the Duke of Edinburgh award or simply indoor sport – all being equally important in creating a well-rounded student soon ready to navigate the adult world.

I am thrilled to be part of the Heathland Community. Moving from India to Feltham in Year 11 was a significant transition, and while my initial grades reflected the challenges I faced, I was fortunate to meet the entry requirements for Heathland. I had heard wonderful things about the school from teachers and friends, especially its outstanding reputation in Hounslow and impressive Ofsted ratings.
Heathland boasts an exceptional team dedicated to supporting us academically, personally, and mentally. Our teachers help us reach our full potential through a blend of independent study and homework. They engage us in meaningful discussions, ensuring we grasp every topic and learn from our mock exam performance. From the moment I arrived in Year 12, I felt embraced by the community, as if I had belonged here all my life.
The school offers a range of extracurricular activities that significantly enhance our university applications. Opportunities like prefecting, subject captains, and Enrichment Days with sports and volunteering allow us to grow in various ways. Additionally, charity weeks provide chances to raise funds through creative initiatives, fostering a spirit of giving. These experiences have been instrumental in building my CV as I pursue my aspiration of becoming a doctor. I will always remember Heathland as a pivotal step in my journey as a student and future university applicant.
